McAfee security guarantees for Android users

Android News: McAfee Co. Ltd. a subsidiary of McAfee in Japan said that Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo will provide McAfee VirusScan Mobile, as an exclusive offer for users of Android smart phone on their network.

As reported by Japan Today on Friday June 24, 2011 Todd Gebhart, Executive Vice President of McAfee, said that McAfee was protecting more than 180 million mobile devices around the world starting in 2004 and McAfee have been working with NTT DoCoMo in order to providing the first mobile software in Japan.

We are very pleased to be providing NTT DoCoMo as a security solution for the use of the Android smart phone for the first time. The partnership aims to improve mobile business in Japan and continue to give consumers a real-time defense against virus threats that will emerge, he added.

Software McAfee VirusScan Mobile will provide alerts to mobile devices to the danger of viruses and other malicious applications by providing scanning and cleaning of files to email, the installer package, Internet downloads text and MMS messages.

Automatic update feature in McAfee VirusScan Mobile is also sure the device is always protected from the latest threats. This software requires only minimal resources and memory of mobile computing, allowing users to access the device functions DoCoMo them without interference and to ensure important communications features they have always worked.

Software from McAfee VirusScan Mobile for Android devices will be available on July 1. DoCoMo Android device users can download these security services from their Webstore Android Market.
